Olga Utchavo Madeira
Renewable Energy Director, Electricity of Mozambique (EDM)
Olga Utchavo Madeira, obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering in 2010 from Instituto Superior José António Echevarria, Havana, Cuba and a postgraduate degree in Management in 2020, from the University of Liverpool, England. Currently attending the master degree in Renewable Energy management at Eduardo Mondlane University.
With 12 years of experience in the energy sector, having joined EDM in 2010 as an intern and in 2011 as an effective worker specifically in the areas of operation and planning of electrical systems and leaded the system planning department from 2015 to 2017.
From 2017 to 2019 he also represented EDM as a non-executive Director of the Lupata Hydroelectric project and from 2019 to the present as a non-executive Director of Central Solar de Metoro.
Olga contributed to the elaboration of strategic documents in the energy sector such as the Integrated Master Plan for Energy Infrastructure, EDM's 10-year strategy and the PROLER program (Renewable Energy Auction in Mozambique). Currently, Olga works as Director of Renewable Energy at EDM from September 2017 to the present.
